Obsessing about gingham print this season! Surprising?! Also called Vichy check it is the ultimate transitional print this summer. Most of the time described as boring it remains years after years one the trends that are timeless. Every spring/summer there’s an overwhelming number of designer playing with the print from picnic maxi dresses to tailoring including accessories it appears to be one of the most versatile fabric. Traditional gingham as appear to be trendy!
It’s in Malaysia that gingham was first made, genggang the Malay word appears to be the root for the english word gingham. It was then popularised by the Dutch and English in the 18th century. In 1916, the fabric became very popular in the United States of America because of Nelly Don a Kansas designer.
